D.J Williams Projekt at Whitlow’s

Get ready to get your funk on. One of Virginia’s best funk groups, The D.J. Williams Projekt is traveling to Northern Virginia this Saturday, April 24th. Sure DJ Williams comes to Whitlow’s quite often, but it’s getting to be summertime and I’m guessing that the Projekt will be doing its typical Mid-Atlantic outdoor festival tour. If you don’t catch them in April, it may be some time before you can see them at Whitlow’s (that’s just my guess). So make sure that you make it out and rock out.

Vintage Virginia

There are a lot of wine festivals going on this summer in the DC area and many of them have music. This weekend is the 28th Annual Vintage Virginia, May 30th and May 31st. This year’s performers include Big Sam’s Funky Nation, On the One, Robert Jospe Sextet, DJ Williams Projekt and Beleza Brasil. Follow these links for the scheduels for Saturday and Sunday.

Two Great Local Shows Saturday

Two great local/regional shows are happening in Northern Virginia on Saturday Night. You may want to forgo your trip to the Nissan Pavillion and wait for a better act than Kenny Chesney before you experience some amphitheatre action. First, the DJ Williams Projekt is back in town and playing at Whitlow’s again. The show starts around 10pm and tickets are usually $5 at the door. The DJ Williams Projekt is seriously the best band you can catch for $5, there’s no reason to miss this show. Unless of course you want to go out to Vienna, VA. Politicks and The Echo Boom are playing at Jammin’ Java Saturday. I’ve seen both bands several times and they are both great, I must say that The Echo Boom is one of the most original groups playing on the DC local music scene right now. That show starts at 10:30pm.
